What is the difference between a pVLAN and a PNI?

A private VLAN is routed over our switch infrastructure with redundant connections and can be used in conjunction with a peering port. Some types of Layer 2 protocols cannot be used in a VLAN.

A PNI, on the other hand, is a dedicated Layer 1 connection and is therefore transparent to Layer 2 protocols (such as LLDP, LACP, etc.).
